Well done indeed to Alex Beckey, Paul Teixeira and Simon Bywater for braving the 3 Peaks Challenge, to give them a great start towards raising £10,000 to provide young, disadvantaged Kenyan children with a trip to the UK in April 2014.
They are at the time of writing at £1,300, so if you are interested in donating please visit theirJustGiving page.
The trio ran 27 miles over Britain’s three highest mountains – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – in 23 hours, 10 minutes, eight seconds, accompanied by former colleague, Alex Von Widdern.
They encountered low temperatures and snow on Ben Nevis, mist and poor visibility on Scafell Pike, and typical British weather on Snowdon. They were ably assisted by fellow teacher Terry Tucker and his son James, who shared the driving.
